My frustration abounds -- my computer system still isn't working properly -- Once again I contacted Dell with the problem -- and after talking this time and explaining that I've reinstalled the Vista about 50 times - they agreed to send me a new hard drive with the system installed, as well as new restore discs.

I love this time of year, but it requires me to work many more hours than usual which makes it hard for me to find time to work on the motor home as needed.  Fortunately this year my schedule for the next two weeks is normal.  I'll make up for these easy weeks in the following two weeks around Christmas, but that's to be expected.

Every spare minute I've had since I worked on the roof, has been plagued by rain.  I did get a chance during one of the breaks in the precipitation to add some temporary patches to the roof, in hopes they will hold till the weather turns better.  So while I was waiting for the break in the weather, I began work on the inside of the motor home.

I started the repairs on the roof today, and found the progress to be a lot slower than I had anticipated. Why do many people simply put caulking on top of old caulking to stop leaks? Yes it’s quicker that way, but if you takes the time to do it right, the results will last a whole lot longer, and protect your investment a whole lot better. I was able to get a lot done over my two days off - I picked up all the supplies needed to fix the roof, got the motor home inspected by the police, which is required in order to get the motor home licensed!  I also got the chance to completely inspect the interior and find out what worked and what doesn't.  Continue reading "Getting Ready to Begin!"

My new (used) RV arrived last night after a 900 mile trip from GA to IN, most of it in the rain, and without any problems – other than the co pilots windshield wiper didn’t work right, and the propane ran out and my brother couldn’t get it filled because of a missing washer. Over the past few weeks, I have done a great deal of research about what I’ll need to become a full time RVer.

One of my primary needs is to be able to dry camp, a.k.a.boondocking! For those who don’t know – boondocking is camping, where you only have what the camper has on board to get you by. No outside electric or water connection to supplement your usage. This of course means, I’ll need to outfit my portable home with enough equipment, water storage, and power sources to last and extended period of time, without overwhelming the systems the camper has.

I’ve spent the last 42+ years working the majority of my life away, without truly enjoying the life God gave me, and I believe it’s now time for me to spend the rest of my life appreciating what the world has to offer.

That being said – I have a plan!

Finding the right bus, seems to be like finding a needle in a hay stack! There are hundreds of them listed on the Internet, priced from a little to a lot! Not being an expert on buses, it makes it hard to find the one I need -- and I need this bus ASAP as the weather will be changing soon making it hard to work on.
